Introduction
: Natural water containing
Carbonates and Sulphates of Calcium and Magnesium more than 300 ppm is called
Hard Water. Soft Water minimum hardness is Zero. Water having hardness less that
70 ppm is called Soft Water. It has wide applications in industries and cooling
system where hardness causing salts are detrimental to the finished products and
where there is temperature variation. Hard Water precipitates salts of Calcium
and Magnesium on walls, surfaces of pipe lines, valves, containeus and equipments.
There are various processes of producing Soft Water. The cheapest and the widely
used process is Iron Exchange process. Construction
: Mild Steel vessel complete
with hand hole, Charging hole, perforated bed support plate, Dome shape Nozzles,
Resign Trap etc. and complete with pipe lines, Valves, Pressure Gauge, Sampling
Cock, Water Meter etc. Painted Externally with a protective coat of Red Oxide
primer and internally with anticorrosive
paint.
Advantages
: Low regeneration costs,
simple to install & operation, in comparable for its stability and long life. Applications
: Soft water is principally
meant for industrial applications such as Boiler, Air Conditioning Plant, Hotels,
Laundries, Textiles, Pharmaceuticals Industries, Distilleries, Soft Drink, Ice
Manufacture, Cosmetics, Power Plants etc. etc. |
